Katy is a clinical psychologist with a warm, empathic and realistic approach who works with you, at a pace that is right for you, to reduce feelings of overwhelm, and best ensure small progressive changes can be sustained over time.
Katy works within the principles and practices of mindfulness, kindness, self-compassion, and mind-body wholism, using evidence-based practices informed by neuroscience, developmental theory, attachment theory, attachment parenting, and somatic approaches to healing. Her use of a non-judgemental framework, invites you into curiosity and kindness for yourself, as you face the challenges before you.
With more than 15 years experience in psychology, including perinatal private practice experience, Katy has an extensive background in clinical psychology and its various empirically supported modalities as well as additional experience with mindfulness, sensorimotor psychotherapy, Hakomi Mindfulness Based Somatic Psychotherapy and Hakomi Advanced Relationships Training.
In addition to her work in the field of psychology, Katy has worked as both a primary school teacher and a childcare worker, with these experiences contributing to her understanding of the changing developmental needs of children, and the challenges that occur for Mums as their children grow and change over time.
