Dr Somayeh Mahintorabi

Dr Somayeh Mahintorabi is a registered Psychologist in NSW and a Member of
Australian Psychological Society and approved State Insurance Regulatory Authority (SIRA) Allied Health Practitioner. She has extensive mental health experience in the community, working with people from culturally diverse backgrounds since 2011 in public and private healthcare in areas including rehabilitation, aged care, pain management, relationship, trauma and prenatal mental health disorders.

Throughout her career, Somayeh has collaborated with individuals from diverse cultural backgrounds, offering support for a broad spectrum of concerns and mental health conditions. Her areas of expertise include mood and anxiety disorders, personality disorders, psychosis, addiction, developmental and complex trauma, marital difficulties, and parenting challenges.

Somayeh uses a combination of therapeutic interventions and techniques, including cognitive behavioural therapy (CBT), reality therapy, and acceptance and commitment therapy (ACT). Furthermore, she has successfully completed Level 1 of Clinical Training in the Gottman Method Couples Therapy, a comprehensive and evidence-based approach to couples counselling. She has further enhanced her skills through perinatal-specific trainings with the Centre of Perinatal Excellence (COPE), the Seleni Institute, and the Triple P program, equipping her to assist clients dealing with parenting challenges.
