General Psychologist
Rachael Gazzola
Rachael is a Registered Psychologist with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA) and is currently completing the final semester of her Master of Clinical Psychology (Post-Registration) at the Cairnmillar Institute. Rachael has joined the Mums Matter Team as a Clinical Psychology Placement Student and will be with the service until early December.
Since becoming a psychologist in 2020, Rachael has worked across a range of settings, including hospitals, schools and community mental health services, supporting children, adolescents and adults with diverse mental health concerns. Prior to this, she worked as both a mental health clinician and child protection practitioner, providing her with a strong understanding of the complex factors that can influence wellbeing.
Rachael has undertaken advanced training in Cognitive Behaviour Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT) and evidence-based treatments for eating disorders. She also draws on Motivational Interviewing (MI) and exposure-based approaches to tailor treatment to each client's individual needs and goals.
Rachael is passionate about helping people develop practical skills, build resilience and create meaningful, lasting change. She is known for her warm, compassionate and non-judgemental approach, while providing structured, evidence-based therapy that helps clients feel supported, understood and confident as they work towards their goals.
