Get Started

Charlie is a psychologist with a special interest in perinatal and early parenting mental health. She completed her Master of Clinical Psychology in Australia, following earlier studies in the UK. During her training, Charlie gained experience as a Provisional Psychologist in university counselling and within a persistent pain service, supporting adults experiencing many challenges including persistent pain, anxiety, depression, trauma and adjustment difficulties.

She now works as a psychologist in community health. Charlie has undertaken additional specialist training in perinatal mental health and feels privileged to support individuals through pregnancy, the postnatal period and the transition to parenthood. Many parents experience anxiety, low mood, birth trauma, fertility challenges, relationship strain or self-doubt during this time.

Charlie has a strong interest in attachment and how our early relationships shape the way we respond to stress, connection and parenting. She works collaboratively with clients to understand these patterns with curiosity and compassion, helping them build secure relationships with themselves, their partners and their children.

Clients often describe Charlie as warm, approachable and down-to-earth. She understands that attending therapy, particularly in the perinatal period, can feel daunting. Charlie is committed to creating a safe, supportive and non-judgemental space where clients can speak openly. Where appropriate, she brings gentle humour into the room.

Approach to Therapy
Charlie’s approach is collaborative, practical and compassionate. She draws primarily from Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), alongside principles from attachment theory. She supports clients to identify unhelpful thinking patterns and behavioural cycles, build psychological flexibility, and develop skills to manage difficult thoughts and emotions. Therapy is tailored to each individual with a focus on helping parents feel more grounded, more connected and more confident in their capacity to navigate this important life stage.
