Alicia Mehta

Clinical Psychologist: Telehealth

B.Arts (Psychology), Master of Clinical Psychology

Alicia Mehta is a registered Clinical Psychologist with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA) with clinical endorsement (to reflect specialist training). She is a full member of the Australian Clinical Psychology Association (ACPA).

Alicia has worked in a range of public and private health settings over the last 20 years. She has worked with varied and complex mental health conditions, both individually and in groups. During Covid, Alicia worked extensively via telehealth and now conducts a majority of her clinical work online.

Alicia regularly engages in professional development and ongoing training. She uses a number of well validated, and individually tailored, talking therapies including Cognitive Behaviour Therapy, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, Compassion Focused Therapy, Motivational Interviewing, Schema Therapy, Interpersonal Therapy and Mindfulness Based Stress Reduction techniques. Her professional training is based upon a thorough understanding of attachment theory and trauma informed care.

Alicia has become increasingly interested in working in perinatal psychology since becoming a mother herself. She is passionate about supporting parents and parents-to-be during the many adjustments and challenges that occur during this life stage. Alicia recognises this is a vulnerable time of life and provides a safe, compassionate and supportive therapeutic space.

Alicia has completed perinatal specific training with the Centre of Perinatal Excellence (COPE). Alicia is also a registered Supervisor for training other Psychologists.
