Leah is an AHPRA registered Occupational Therapist & Mental Health Endorsed Occupational Therapist with Occupational Therapy Australia with experience supporting families in the perinatal period and early years. She is also a Neuroprotective Developmental Care Accredited Practitioner (NDC/Possums). To become an NDC Accredited Practitioner, Health Professionals undergo intensive training in the latest lactation science, neuroscience, evolutionary biology, gut science, infant sleep science, attachment psychology and psychological strategies for maternal mental health.
Leah is passionate about providing warm & empathetic support in times of need for parents and workshopping practical solutions to get through each day, helping to find the moments of joy in times of overwhelm. With her professional experience working in paediatrics, child & adolescent mental health, and also personally as a mother to two young children Leah’s support offerings include:
Bonding & play between parent and child
Infant/early years sleep & parent mental health support from a Neuroprotective Developmental Care perspective (Possums program)
Managing mental health changes in the perinatal period utilising an ACT framework and occupational lense- exploring how engagement in meaningful day to day activities can support wellbeing for parents in the early years and beyond.
