Lauren Pendlington

Psychologist (Educational and Developmental Registrar)

Lauren Pendlington

Lauren is a registered psychologist with experience working across private practice, disability, school, and higher education settings. She has also worked as a teaching academic, supporting the education of the next generation of psychologists. Lauren has a particular interest in perinatal psychology. She is especially interested in supporting parents as they navigate the emotional, psychological, and identity changes that can accompany pregnancy and early parenthood. She is also interested in the intersection between neurodivergence and motherhood, recognising that many neurodivergent parents face unique strengths, challenges, and barriers that deserve understanding and affirming support. Lauren's approach is warm, calm, collaborative, and non-judgemental. She aims to create a space where people feel genuinely heard, understood, and supported while helping them develop insight, practical coping strategies, and self-compassion. She values building authentic therapeutic relationships and believes that feeling safe and accepted is fundamental to meaningful change. Her practice is grounded in evidence-based, neuroaffirming care that honours each person's individual experiences, values, and goals. Lauren uses an eclectic approach to therapy which may draw on modalities including Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Motivational Interviewing, Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), and Narrative-Based Therapy.
