Vanessa Shevelev

Vanessa is a registered Psychologist with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA) and a Member of the Australian Psychological Society (MAPS). She is currently undertaking Psychotherapy training (Masters of Psychotherapy & Counselling at Western Sydney University).
Vanessa brings a warm and empathic approach to her work and has experience with parents, families and adolescents in contexts including community mental health, schools and university.
Vanessa is passionate about providing support to parents and their families, especially during the perinatal period. Vanessa has experience supporting difficulties such as low mood, anxiety, grief, relationships, career challenges and stress.
Vanessa draws on a variety of approaches including Cognitive Behaviour Therapy (CBT), Acceptance Commitment Therapy (ACT) and Positive Psychology, all with a trauma-informed approach. She has an interest in Attachment Theory and Psychodynamic Theory frameworks. Vanessa has completed training in Maternal Mental Health from the Centre of Perinatal Excellence (COPE).
