Shehnas is a Registered Psychologist with Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA) and is currently completing her Clinical Psychologist Registrar program. Shehnas is also a member of the Australian Psychological Society (APS) and the College of Clinical Psychologists.
Born and raised in Singapore, Shehnas offers a culturally diverse perspective that enriches her practice and underscores her deep appreciation for understanding cultural nuances.
Shehnas' professional journey includes a significant year-long university placement specialising in perinatal and infant mental health. Her experience extends to working in the disability sector and conducting psychoeducational assessments. She has delivered therapeutic services within community settings and not-for-profit organisations.
Shehnas focuses on issues throughout the perinatal period and is dedicated to offering mental health care and support to women as they navigate the challenges of pregnancy and parenthood. She addresses concerns such as depression, anxiety, grief and loss, and stress related to life transitions.
In her practice, Shehnas integrates therapeutic approaches rooted in attachment theory and incorporates cognitive behavioural therapy techniques. Her approach is characterised by empathy, collaboration, and a commitment to supporting clients through evidence-based interventions. Shehnas strives to establish a secure environment for her clients, fostering a warm and collaborative therapeutic relationship.
