Fiona Simson (Mat leave)

Psychologist: Telehealth

B.Arts (Double Major in Psychology and Education), Post-Grad Dip of Psychology

Fiona is a registered Psychologist with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA), becoming registered in 2012. She holds a post-graduate degree in Psychology. More recently, Fiona has completed training courses through Perinatal Anxiety and Depression Australia (PANDA) and has completed a perinatal specific training course with the Centre of Perinatal Excellence (COPE) and is furthering her knowledge through another course with COPE.

Fiona has experience providing person-centred intervention and support to clients experiencing a variety of presentations. She has worked with children, adolescents and adults and is compassionate and collaborative in her approach. She is able to deliver treatment methodologies including Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) and Solution Focused Therapy.

The experience of becoming a mother herself has highlighted Fiona’s interest in supporting parents-to-be and parents throughout the perinatal period. She is empathetic of the challenges that can exist with conception, pregnancy and the adjustment following the birth of a new baby, and the ups and downs that can be experienced during these times.
