Anjum is a Registered Psychologist with Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA) and is currently completing her Perinatal Mental Health specific training through the Centre of Perinatal Excellence (COPE). After completing her studies in Psychology at Deakin University, Anjum further went to attain her VIT registration as a primary teacher. Anjum is also a registered Behavior Support Practitioner with NDIS.
Anjum is passionate about supporting mothers throughout their perinatal and postnatal period. Having three children of her own Anjum recognizes the support families may need as they navigate the challenges of pregnancy and parenthood.
Anjum has worked within the pediatrics realm for most of her career, specifically with neurodiverse children. Anjum believes that prioritizing timely mental health of families specifically mothers can promote children learning, development and attachment and is the key to strong, resilient and happy families.
Anjum aims to empower individuals by helping them develop the tools necessary to overcome obstacles. Anjum is also fluent in Hindi and Urdu. She has primarily worked alongside children, adolescent and families engaging in a collaborative and strength based therapeutic approach. Her calm, gentle and consistent approach has aimed to provide a supportive and nurturing environment for individuals to reflect, grow and thrive. Utilizing a holistic and strengths-based approach for each individual Anjum employs a range of evidence-based modalities which include but are not limited to; , Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Interpersonal Therapy (IPT), Schema Therapy, and Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy and, Mindfulness-Based Cognitive Therapy.
