Rebecca Underwood is a psychologist registered with the Australian Health Practitioner Registration Agency (AHPRA). She is a member of the Australian Association of Psychologists Inc (AAPi), Australian Psychological Society (APS), holds student membership with the Australian Clinical Psychology Association (ACPA), and is on the committee of the APS Mornington Peninsula Branch. Rebecca has returned to further study and is currently completing a Master of Clinical Psychology.
Rebeca draws upon 10 years of clinical experience to inform her practice, enabling her to establish a collaborative and supportive relationship where assistance can be provided in a safe space, throughout the perinatal period. Rebecca utilises an eclectic approach to treatment drawing upon multiple evidence-based approaches to achieve desired outcomes. Such approaches include Cognitive Behaviour Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT), Solution Focussed Brief Therapy (SFBT), Motivational Interviewing (MI) and supportive counselling.
Rebecca has completed training in Maternal Mental Health from the Centre of Perinatal Excellence (COPE) as well as the Seleni Institute’s Maternal Mental Health Intensive training course. Rebecca has also completed the Perinatal Non-Directive Counselling Training through the Australian Psychological Society.
