Dr Mia Urtone
Clinical Psychologist: Armstrong Creek East, Telehealth
Mia is a registered Clinical Psychologist with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA) who completed her training and practiced in the UK for 16 years until moving to Victoria. Mia has worked in a variety of different settings and with a variety of different clients across the lifespan from infancy to adulthood. Prior to moving to Victoria, Mia led a Perinatal and Preschool Mental Health and Parenting Service that was awarded Clinical Team of the Year at the annual Health Trust Awards and highlighted as an example of best practice nationally. Mia was also the lead clinician for Perinatal and Infant Mental Health for the city of Manchester. Mia has written articles for Practice Journals, delivered training for Masters and Doctorate Students and presented at conferences in the UK on topics such as Postnatal Depression, Parent Infant Mental Health, Attachment Theory and Trauma Informed Approaches. Mia is passionate about early intervention and supporting families in the perinatal period and early years and has completed additional training in Parent Infant Mental Health, Attachment Focussed Intervention, Parenting Interventions and Family Therapy. Mia is collaborative, respectful and empathic and adopts a client centred approach, offering a variety of evidence based approaches to the individuals and families she works with.
